Adult Literacy Training Program

Access to knowledge is a fundamental driver of community development and long-term transformation. Through our Adult Literacy Training Program, we support local communities by strengthening essential reading and writing skills, enabling adults to participate more actively in social and economic life.

In 2025, more than 50 adults from villages surrounding the Efatsy Manombo forest took part in this initiative. Women’s groups, particularly motivated to foster innovation and positive change within their communities, stood out for their strong commitment and enthusiasm throughout the training.

The program was implemented with the support of teachers and representatives of the local community, fostering meaningful exchanges and strong local ownership. This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of SOS Lemurs, whose contribution plays a vital role in strengthening education and sustainable development at the community level.

Continued investment in adult literacy is crucial for sustainable development. Participants expressed a strong desire to access additional books and educational materials to further develop the skills and knowledge they have recently acquired.
